Shelley Nole (Rice) Thomas
Shelley Nole (Rice) Thomas, 55, Hibbing, died Saturday, January 11, 2014, in Hibbing.  She was born in Hibbing on April 8, 1958, to Mervin and Myrna (Tawyea) Rice.  Shelley graduated from Hibbing High School in 1976 and was a member of Open Door Church and its Celebrate Recovery program.  Shelley’s love and compassion impacted the lives of many people.
She is survived by six children:  Brandon (Kaira Christianson) Dow, Hope Dow, Jolynn Poindexter, Stan “Butch” Dow, Jr., Rebecca Dow—Matteson, and Dale Dow; her parents, Mervin and Myrna Rice of Hibbing; grandchildren Bridien Dow, Brionna Dow, Zeemaundre South, Shad Christianson, Isabelle Baker, Logan Matteson, Sean Matteson, Paige Matteson, Sky Dow, and Eden Dow; siblings: Scott (Gail) Rice, Sheila (Ed) Burt, Tammy (Norm) Carter, Timothy (Annette) Rice, and Martin (Michelle) Rice; by numerous nieces and nephews; and her boyfriend, Gerald Liesmaki.
