Wayne E. Elj, 66, lifelong resident of Nashwauk died Sunday, March 29, 2026, at his home in Nashwauk, MN. He was born April 14, 1959, to Melvin and Donna (Shofner) Elj in Hibbing. Wayne was employed as a logger for many years. Most recently, he was employed with Midwest Manufacturing. He loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing were his favorite pastimes.

He is survived by his children, Adam Elj, Adrianne Elj, Andrew (Lacy) Elj, and Allison Peterson-Elj, all of Nashwauk, MN, brother, William Elj, Nashwauk, ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife Margaret, parents, Melvin and Donna, and two siblings, Walter and Vera Elj.

Per Wayne’s request, there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing.
