Virginia Mae Patregnani, age 88 of Hibbing passed away peacefully at Fairview
Range Medical Center in Hibbing on Thursday, November 23, 2023. She was born
in Hibbing on February 24, 1935. Virginia was a lifelong resident of Hibbing. She
was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Prior to that she was
very active with the St. Leo’s Catholic Church prior to its closing. On June 29,
1957, she was joined in marriage to James Patregnani. Virginia was active in
church functions, meals on wheels, delivering groceries to the homebound and
the Hibbing Auxiliary at the Hibbing Hospital. She was an excellent cook as well
as wonderful baked goods. Virginia always had a smile on her face when greeting
all that touched the hearts and lives of all she knew and met. Her greatest joy were
her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved with
her whole heart and gave unwavering support. She will be greatly missed by her
family and all that knew her. Virginia is survived by her children, Michael (Geri)
Patregnani, Nashwauk, MN, Teresa Patregnani (Rodd Anderson), Hibbing, MN,
Steven (Jean Winters) Patregnani, Bovey, MN, Kathryn Patregnani, Zimmerman,
MN and Anita (Terry Wondrow) Patregnani, Elk River, MN. Grandchildren,
Krystal Kurpierz, Michelle (Dallas Lehman) Patregnani and Anthony Patregnani.
Great-grandchildren, Kaleb Colburn, Sofia Colburn and Ari Patregnani. Her
sisters, Marilyn Walters and Roselle Brown. Many nieces and nephews, extended
family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Sulo and Eleanor
(Laurie) Alto, husband, James, siblings Roger Alto and Sharon Graff. The family
would like to extend their gratitude to her staff at Guardian Angels, especially
Jenelle Connors, her unit nurse manager, All of the Big Stone Therapy staff,
Fairview Range Medical Center Staff and most especially to her physician, Dr.
Kasey Kapella and her nurse practitioner, Hillary Zupan. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held on Monday, December 4th at 12:00 pm with visitation from
10:30 am – 12:00 pm at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church: Interment will be
held at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers,
you may make a donation in her memory to the Minnesota Parkinson’s
Foundation, Blessed Sacrament Church or charity of your choice.
