Virginia L. Christiansen, 78, Hibbing died Friday, June 13, 2025, at her home in Hibbing. She was born March 16, 1947, to Willard and Bertha (Sarga) Carlson in Virginia, MN. She married Chris “Roger” Christiansen on October 11, 1964, in Hibbing. A homemaker by trade, Virginia fully enjoyed supervising her husband’s projects which was a fulltime job, force feeding her children peas, and taking care of any type of animal that eventually became a household pet; including a goose and a few ducks throughout her lifetime. Virginia loved her flower gardens, and bowling as her favorite pastimes. She was a dedicated member of a local bowling league on Thursday nights.

She is survived by her husband Roger Christiansen, Hibbing, children, Ronnette “Pinkie” Christiansen, St. Paul, MN, Mark Willard Christiansen, Hibbing, MN, and Paul Roger Christiansen, Champlin, MN, sister, Doreen Gleason, Hibbing, brother, Ken Carlson, Marble, MN, 7 grandchildren, Charles McMillian, Minneapolis, MN, Nathaniel Christiansen, Hibbing, Marko “Fen” Christiansen II, Eveleth, MN, Jolee M. Christiansen, Angora, MN, Kennedy Jo Christiansen, Paul R. Christiansen Jr., and Kasie Jo Christiansen, all of Champlin, MN, 12 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Gary Carlson.

Funeral services for Virginia will be 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. The Rev. John Dietz will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home Wednesday. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing at a later date. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
