Veronica "Ronnie" Marie Boucher, 86, of Hibbing, MN, passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side on Sunday, December 21, 2025. She was born in Hibbing on March 31, 1939, to Steve and Frances (Russ) Novak. Ronnie grew up in Kitzville and graduated from Hibbing High School, class of 1957. She married the love of her life, Roger Boucher, on March 3, 1962, at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. They were married for 58 years. Ronnie and Roger moved from the Iron Range to Denver, Colorado for a short time and then to Minneapolis for many years where they raised their family before moving back to Hibbing in 1996. In 2009, Ronnie retired from her position as a customer service agent at Northwest Airlines/Delta. Her faith was of utmost importance to her as she was a devout member of the Catholic Church and in later years, she organized and served funeral luncheons at the church. She also helped clean and organize the votive candles for prayer. Ronnie was a mentor for the Catholic Charities maternity home. She was also a bereavement volunteer at the Hibbing Hospital for many years. She was a card shark at the game Bridge and an avid bowler into her 70's. She enjoyed delivering the morning newspaper to her neighbors at Real Life apartments and Meals on Wheels. Ronnie was a world traveler, always learning and curious about other people and cultures. She was a world famous cook and baker to her family and friends. Her Slovenian heritage was very important to her, and she felt grateful to visit her family there a few times. Ronnie loved accordion music and dancing a polka with Roger. She was a silecna slovenska žena (strong and proud Slovenian woman) who will be greatly missed.
Ronnie is survived by her son Colonel (R) John (Jill) Boucher, daughter Dana Le Duc, brother Steve (Mary Ellen) Novak and grandchildren Nicholas (Afton) Northrup, Ryan Hayes, Jack Boucher, James Boucher and many cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Frances, brother John and grandson Benjamin Hayes.
