Vernon L. “Smokey” Michaud

Vernon L. Michaud, 82, Hibbing, died Sunday, March 17, 2019 in the Chris Jensen Rehabilitation Center, Duluth.  He was born Nov. 8, 1936 in Ball Club, MN to Frank and Vernetta Michaud.  Vernon was an Army veteran and had worked at Abe Mathews for 34 years as a welder and foreman.  Vernon was an avid sports fan, but his favorite times were spent with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Terry and his sisters Ellen and Rosemary.  He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and his parents. He will be missed by his sisters in law his brothers in law and his nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 22, 2019 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.  Visitation will be in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
