Timothy Malnar

Timothy E. Malnar age 72, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026. He was born July 17, 1953, to Thomas and Janice (Rivera) Malnar in Virginia. Tim had a fascination for trains and would spend countless hours out by the tracks observing them on their routes. He loved to meet people and most likely would remember your name for the rest of his life. Tim is survived by his caretaker and lifelong friend Denise (Dave) Persson and family, special friends Carol and the late Terry Lee, nieces Christine, Laura, Melissa, Lezli, Amber, and Natalie, sister in Law Judy and extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Tom Malnar and Carrie Day. Special thanks to the staff at the Biwabik AFC and hospice staff who ensured Tim spent his remaining days in the comfort of his home. The Biwabik Staff is greatly appreciated for catering to his love of trains, ships, Tarzan and other passions. Memorial service will be held 1:00 pm Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing.
