Thomas “Tom” Harold Trask, 79, born July 8, 1947, in Hibbing, Minnesota, passed away August 1, 2026. Tom was the son of Anne Godfrey and Harold Victor Trask and grandson of Lucy and T.J. Godfrey, all of whom preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carol Jeanine Dudley; sons Nathan (Kari), Matthew, and Travis Stanich; grandchildren Kinley, Jameson, Theo, Monroe, Maddox, McCade, and Nadia; and his dear cousin, Clark Corey.
A 1965 graduate of Hibbing High School, Tom earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. His varied career included teaching children with Down syndrome, real estate and property management, security and asset protection, and firearms and personal-protection instruction. For much of his life, he owned and operated Trask Land Company and later combined his passion for shooting sports, safety, and education through Trask.US.Tom was known for his intelligence, quick wit, strong principles, and deep Catholic faith. He believed service to others was an obligation and regularly volunteered with St. Vincent de Paul. He enjoyed shooting sports, CB radio, live rock and roll, drumming, and, unmistakably to those who knew him, Sammy’s Pizza. Above all, Tom was devoted to his family. Each morning he prayed, “Oh God, give me the wisdom, strength, and courage to do what I must do for my family.”
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on August 17 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury Street, Prescott, Arizona.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. on August 26 at the Hibbing Memorial Building, East Entrance Dining Room, 400 E. 23rd Street, Hibbing, Minnesota.
A private graveside service will be held on August 27 at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, Minnesota.
