Thomas E. Kautto

Thomas E. Kautto, 68, Hibbing, died in his home on Monday Jan. 1, 2018.  Thomas lived in California for a brief time before moving to Florida where he lived for nearly 30 years. While residing in Florida, he worked for both the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel and the Broward County Assessor’s office.  Upon retirement in 2001, he moved back to Hibbing where he finished his Master’s Degree in Science in Organization and Management. He worked for the Hibbing Workforce Center and the Range Mental Health Center.  Thomas also served on the Hibbing Planning and Zoning Commission. In his free time, Thomas coached Little League baseball and softball for over 30 years.

He is survived by his siblings: Darlene Zelinski of Houston, TX, Dennis (Deb) Kramarich of Plymouth, MN, Roseann (Jim) Lewis of Hibbing, MN, and Kathy (Steve Sutherland) Kramarich of Milwaukee, WI, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frances Kramarich and step-father, John “Red” Kramarich: and his father, Olaf Kautto and his brothers, Jerome Kautto and Jack Kramarich.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.  Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home until service time.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery following the service.
