Sharon Julene Zezel, age 82, of Hibbing, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2024, at
Guardian Angels nursing home with her family by her side.
Sharon was born on May 29, 1942, in Hibbing MN, to Hartley and Julia (Mihm) Kermode. She
graduated from Hibbing High School in 1960. Sharon married the love of her life, Ken Zezel, on
October 14, 1961, in Hibbing, MN, and they built a beautiful life and family together. They were married for 63 years.
She enjoyed playing golf, volleyball, curling, and camping and fishing with her favorite fishing
partner, Kenny. She loved watching her two boys play sports throughout their childhood and
school years, and later watching her grandchildren; She was their biggest cheerleader!
Sharon worked for Northwestern Bell in the office, and later as a bookkeeper for Manney’s
Shopper until she retired.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, John Hartley and Julia Julene (Mihm) Kermode, and sister,
Dee.
She is survived by her husband, Ken; children, Joseph (Anna) Zezel, and John (Peggy) Zezel;
grandchildren, Jared (Stephanie) Zezel, Jahnna (Nicholas) Barta, Jennifer Zezel and Dominic
Zezel; great grandchildren, Noah and Riley Zezel, and Sullivan and Fern Barta; sister, Joy
Biedler; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a huge thank you to the wonderful staff at Guardian Angels in Hibbing for all of their care
Sharon’s wishes were to have a private family service.
