Sharon R. Gangl

Sharon R. Gangl, age 88, of Bigfork, MN, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at the Bigfork Valley Long Term Care Center in Bigfork, MN. She was born on August 15, 1937, in Pengilly, MN, to William and Josephine (Carpenter) Edwards.

Sharon worked in both the therapy and housekeeping departments at Leisure Hills Assisted Living. She taught catechism for many years at St. Cecilia's and assisted with church lunches in the kitchen. Sharon loved spending time outdoors in the garden and enjoying the beautiful flowers. She enjoyed reading, particularly mystery and romantic novels. Sharon adored her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered for her exceptional sewing and knitting skills, as well as the hats and mittens she made for others.

She is survived by her children, Deborah (George) Morell, Roxane (Drew) Winegar, and Timothy Gangl; grandchildren, Angela (Kevin), Stacy, Nicole (Kalen) Steel, Drew, Dylan (Samantha), Joshua (Chrystal), Amanda (Scott), Justin (Hannah), Shad (Megan), Tucker, and lane; great-grandchildren, Gabi, Grayson, Jaxen, Mila, Lila, Eli, Austin, Charlotte, and Oliver; dog, Cassidy; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Sharon is preceded in death by her husband, Delano Gangl; parents, William and Josephine Edwards; son, Robert Gangl; and seven siblings.

A private family Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date. Interment will take place at the Nashwauk Cemetery in Nashwauk, MN.

The family would like to thank the physicians, Dr. Jeff and Dr. Eric Scrivner, Dr. Anderson, and Dr. Meyer for their kind and compassionate care of their mother. To all of the staff who work in the Bigfork Valley LTC Facility, you all treated her with dignity and love while making her feel like family all while being comfortable and peaceful.
