Ross Michael Salminen
Ross Michael Salminen, 70, passed away Thursday April 6, 2017 in his home in Hibbing surrounded by his family. Ross was born March 18, 1947 to Werner and Verna (Fearing) Salminen in Hibbing. Ross played baseball in high school and fast pitch for nearly 30 years; both sports and music were a big part of his life. He also loved going to coffee with the guys at Sportsman’s Café. Ross was employed with US Steel in the warehouse at Minntac for 31 years.
Ross is survived by his beloved wife Kathy (Sampson) Salminen, of Hibbing; his daughter Rachel (Jim) Olson of Coleraine, a brother Ronald (Chris) Salminen of Chisholm and his granddaughter Aubri Olson. He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Funeral services for Ross will be held Monday April 10, 2017 11:00am at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
