Rosemary Gilbert

Rosemary Gilbert, age 72, of Hibbing, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. She was born May 24, 1954, in Franklin, IN, to Edward and Pauline (Hilton) Sallee. Rosemary moved to the Iron Range in 1976; she worked as a CNA at local nursing homes. Rosemary enjoyed the simple things in life, playing canasta on the computer, watching old TV shows like The Andy Griffith Show and I Love Lucy. She liked attending car shows and taking pictures with classic cars. Family meant the most to Rosemary, she cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. Rosemary attended the Whosoever Will Church via livestream every Sunday. 

She is survived by her children, Kris (Carolyn Moe) Pruitt, Rachel Gilbert, siblings, Stella (Tom) Sells, Louisville, KY, Linda Cox, Edinburgh, IN, Donnie (Lindsay) Collins, Dugger, IN, Myra (Steve) Bryan, Olney, IL, Kathy Cameron, Hibbing, MN, Lavon (Brad) Adams, Keewatin, MN, Graylin Sallee, Michigan City, IN, Lisa (John) Buatala, Aurora, MN, foster siblings, Bobby, Jimmy, Vada, Billy, John, 6 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews extended relatives and friends. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Pauline, foster parents, Jim and Kristjana Maxwell, brothers, Ronnie and Harman Sallee, brothers-in-law, Harold Cox and Jamie Cameron, nephew, Bryon Neal, great-great niece, Ava Skalsky, special friend, Rick Cook.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026, at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Rosemary’s family.
