Rose “Rosie” Ann Francis Stanek, 72, of Hibbing, MN passed away peacefully on Friday,
March 8th, 2024 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born April 26th, 1951 in NE
Minneapolis, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter, and Olga (Pasicznyk)
Stanek and sister, Suzanne Stanek. She is survived by her three sisters, Debra (James)
Jensen, Stephanie Stanek, and Catherine Stanek, many cousins, 11 nieces, nephews, and
her many great-nieces and nephews. She was a good friend to many, including Marge
(Dan) Ellefson. Rosie was also Godmother to Christopher Jensen and Susan Ellefson.
Rosie grew up in NE Minneapolis. After 8th grade, she entered the Sisters of St. Francis of
Sylvania, OH Convent for a few years and then returned home. After school, Rosie was
employed as a Health Care Assistant with Hennepin County Medical Center in
Minneapolis, MN where she retired from. Rosie later moved to Hibbing where she lived for
the past 15 years. A person devoted to her faith; Rosie was highly active in the church. She
was a Religion teacher at Holy Cross and St. Boniface in Minneapolis. Rosie became a
member of Blessed Sacrament where she taught religion and was a Eucharistic Minister.
She enjoyed volunteering at Blessed Sacrament, the Hibbing Mine View, and Hibbing
Senior Citizens Center. Rosie was an avid reader who would never turn down a good book.
She also loved playing bingo any chance she got. Rosie was a beautiful person inside and
out. Her smile would light up the whole room. She cared deeply for the people around her
and was so kind and passionate. She made an impact on many lives and will be forever
missed.
Funeral services for Rose Ann will be at 11:00am, Thursday, March 21st, 2024 at Blessed
Sacrament Catholic Church; 2310 7th Ave East. Hibbing, MN 55746 The Rev. Fr. Bill
Skarich will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 9:30
am, visitation from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral Mass at the church. Burial and
prayer service with Deacon Bob Bramwell will take place on March 22nd, 2024, at 2:00 pm
at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery; 8151 42nd Ave North New Hope, MN 55427
