Robert Taylor

Robert G. Taylor age 77 of Hibbing, passed away Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at his home. He was born November 18, 1945 in Fort Dodge, IA to Burgess “Bert” and Magdalen (Zweibohmer) Taylor. Robert was a 1963 graduate of Hibbing High School and later went on to attend the Hibbing Area Technical Institute graduating in 1965. Robert was an avid race car driver and mechanic. He was a talented musician and played in a band called the Range Riders for many years. Robert was in the men’s league at the Hibbing Bowling Center. One of his passions was collecting coins and he ended up with an impressive collection. Robert was in multiple unions including the boilermakers, steelworkers and laborers. Robert loved to dance and have a good time. He is survived by his children, Molly Taylor, Anna (Terry) French, Dawn (J.R.) McKibbon, Stacy (Frank) Vincent Monfrey, Warren (Shelly) Vincent, siblings, James Taylor, John Taylor, Pat Anderson, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Magdalen, wife and the love of his life, Doris, brothers, Wayne and Harold, grandsons Joshua and Jeffrey. A visitation will be held from 10 am until 11 am Monday, April 17, 2023 at Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. There will be a time of sharing at 10:30 am during the visitation. Interment will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing immediately following the visitation.
