Robert Buescher, Sr.

Robert Louis Buescher, 83, passed away on December 4, 2011.
He was born on June 16, 1928, in Hibbing, MN the son of Silven Buescher and Margaret Moffatt. He graduated from Nashwauk High School in 1946 and attended Hibbing Junior College. On February 18, 1953 he married Helen Mrkonich. They made their home in Nashwauk.
Robert was employed by Butler Brothers, the Hanna Mining Company and National Steel Pellet Plant for a total of 36 years until his retirement in 1985. He was a US Army Veteran and member of Nashwauk American Legion Post 307 for 57 years.  He was a lifelong member of Nashwauk Lutheran Church.   He was a loving husband, devoted father and grandfather, loyal friend, and excellent dog walker. He enjoyed traveling to athletic events and spending time playing cribbage with friends at the Nashwauk Retired Men’s Club.
Survivors include son Robert Jr., Cohasset, MN,  son Tom (Nancy ), Nashwauk, MN, daughter Traci (Brad Keith), Rochester, MN, sister Nancy (Darrell) Main, Howard Lake, MN, grandchildren Nik Buescher, Luke Buescher, Tess Buescher, Lindsay Buescher, and Melissa Buescher , and great grandchildren Jaxon Buescher and Preston Buescher. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen, his parents, and daughter-in-law, Jodi Buescher.
Visitation will be Friday December 9, 2011, in Nashwauk Lutheran Church, Nashwauk, from 10 AM until the 11 AM funeral service.  Interment will be in Nashwauk Cemetery at a later date.  Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Nashwauk Lutheran Church.
