Ricky Allen Tawyea

Ricky Allen Tawyea age 69 of Hibbing passed away unexpectedly at his home Sunday, August 6, 2023. He was born July 13, 1954, to Donald and Beverly (Boutain) Tawyea. Ricky was a 1972 graduate of Hibbing High School, following graduation Ricky worked at several places, he was the head mechanic at the K-Mart Auto Shop, the Hibbing Memorial Building and for 15 years he worked as a mechanic at Daves Sales and Service, he retired from Timberline Trucking. Ricky was a member of the Goldwing Road Riders Association (GWRRA), he played in the Hibbing Area Dart League and received his SCUBA certification. Ricky was a die-hard Star Trek fan; he had a commanding presence and was a man of few words. Before his passing Ricky got to fulfill his lifelong dream of visiting the sandy beaches of Hawaii. He is survived by his very special friend, Elaine Gursky, Las Vegas, NV, daughter, Rebecca Shain, Hibbing, MN, grandchildren, Samantha Tawyea, Hibbing, MN, Brian Shain Jr., Duluth, MN, 2 great-grandchildren, and his old friend, Patrick Taylor. Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Beverly, stepfather, Norman Olson, siblings, Randy Tawyea, Robin Hartshorn, Rusty Olson, and 2 nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
