Richard Allen Hart

Richard Allen Hart, age 76, of Chisholm, MN, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at the Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing, MN. He was born on September 29, 1949, in Hibbing, MN, to Homer and Shirley (deChambeau) Hart. Richard graduated from Hibbing High School in 1967. He married the love of his life, Kathryn Rajkovich, in Watertown, South Dakota, in 1973. Richard joined the Army in 1976 and proudly served our country before being honorably discharged. He retired from Cleveland-Cliffs after 41 years of work at United Taconite. Richard was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm, MN, and one of the first members of Camp 231, a special deer shack where he enjoyed hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose steady, calming presence brought comfort to all who knew him. A man of strong convictions, he stood firmly by what he believed was right. He loved to laugh and share a good joke, and found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially his wife’s cooking, sitting on the front porch, and sipping on whiskey. Known for his sharp memory, he had a remarkable ability to recall dates and details, a gift his family will always cherish. Richard is survived by his wife, Kathryn Hart; children, Stefanie (Joseph) Scribbins, and Rick (Carey) Hart; siblings, Cheryle (Steve) Rancourt, David (Lucy) Hart, Gary (Jodi) Hart, Jessica Hart, and Ginger Hart; and grandchildren, LillyAnn Hart, Mallory Hart, and Malcolm Scribbins. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Jerry Hart. A Memorial Service will take place 12:00 pm Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Dougherty Funeral Home. Visitation will take place at 11:00 am. Father Peter Akudugu will officiate. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, MN.
