Phyllis B. Frand

Phyllis Betty Frand, age 96, of Hibbing, MN, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at her residence. She was born on April 12, 1929, in England to Jesse & Edith (Osbourne) Green. 

Phyllis began working at the age of 14 in the midst of WWⅡ. She later met her husband, Fred, while he was stationed in England during the Korean War. They were married in England & moved back to Hibbing after Fred was discharged from the Army in 1954. Together, they raised two children, Patti & Steve. Phyllis was a member of the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. She had a passion for cooking & baking like no other. Phyllis enjoyed making all kinds of bars, especially her lemon bars; all of which were enjoyed by numerous friends & family. She always had a keen fondness for dogs, as she approached them with a smile to her face & a dog treat in her hand. Phyllis was a woman of strength and conviction; she was known for her no-nonsense nature & loving spirit. 

She is survived by her children, Patti Frand & Steve (Patty) Frand; grandchildren, Valerie Campbell & Stephanie Frand; niece & nephew, Rebecca & Paul Green (England); and numerous nieces & nephews throughout the U.S. 

Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents; husband; & siblings, Josie Blanchfl ower & Bill Green (England). 

There will be no services held, as per Phyllis’ request.
