Peter J. Seeba

Peter James Seeba, age 31, of Hibbing, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Peter was born on May 19, 1995, on a beautiful Friday morning. He made a big entrance into this world, literally, at 10 pounds, 3 ounces. Being born was also the fastest thing he ever did in his life, much preferring to move through life in a thoughtful, meticulous manner. He was not a man to be rushed. Peter lived in Hibbing his entire life and graduated from Hibbing High School in 2013. After high school, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the Iron Range Engineering program through Mankato State University. After obtaining his degree, he worked as an electrical engineer and most recently started a new position at Lowe’s. Peter was fascinated by science and how the world worked. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours on the bike trail, at State Parks, on the lake, hunting with his grandpa, and chasing shooting stars. He drew beautiful sketches of intricate cities, landscapes, and outer space. He was also musically minded and enjoyed playing the guitar (both Guitar Hero and the real thing), preferring rock and heavy metal. He was very in tune with his environment, knew when a train was coming before anyone else, and would often wake his family in the night to announce a deer or Northern Lights outside. He had an impressive hot sauce collection and preferred food that made him sweat. While never the loudest one in the room (very much a middle child), Peter had his own way of connecting with others and expressing his love. He was a loyal friend, son, and brother, who formed deep, lasting relationships with those close to him. He had a gentle soul, and often found children and animals drawn to his warmth and kindness. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Dona Seeba; brother, Thomas Seeba (Katharine Gannon); sister, Marie Seeba; grandmother, Mary Jo Seeba; and grandfather, J. Edward Gregorich, along with many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Ellen Gregorich; grandfather, Walter J. Seeba; and uncle, Walter J. Seeba Jr. Peter will be remembered, loved, and missed by many. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Mass on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Church in Hibbing. A private interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing, MN.
