Nicholas Danculovich (Nick) passed away peacefully on August 3, 2026, in Hibbing, MN, surrounded by the love of his family. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, a deep love for the great outdoors, and an unmatched devotion to his family.

Born on November 28, 1958, in Hibbing to Nick and Marjorie Danculovich, his arrival nearly three months early set the precedent for a man who always did everything on his terms and in his way. Nick was a man of strong character, with a dry sense of humor and work ethic. He proudly dedicated 40 years of his life to working at Hibbing Taconite as a maintenance mechanic. When he wasn’t working, and later, after his retirement, Nick preferred spending his time outdoors hunting, fishing, or going for rides. He spent his years teaching his grandsons everything he knew about hunting and fishing, and was always happiest when spending time anywhere with his family, especially at “The Shack” or the cabin. There were few things that Nick couldn't fix, fabricate, or build.  As much as he loved the outdoors and his work, nothing compared to the love he had for his family, and those who became family.

He was married to his wife, Cheryl, and together they had one daughter, Chas. Nick’s greatest joy and one of his proudest achievements in life was his role as a grandfather. His two grandsons, Alex and Adam, were the absolute center of his universe. He poured his heart into passing on everything he could. The time spent with his boys brought a sparkle to his eye that nothing else could replicate. He loved them more than words could ever describe, and his spirit will live on through the lessons, laughter, memories, and love he shared with them.

Nick was much loved and will be greatly missed by his wife, Cheryl, his daughter, Chas, his son-in-love Scott, and the best grandsons ever, Alex James and Adam Nicholas Balut. Nick is also survived by his brothers, Dennis and Thomas (Diane) Danculovich, nephews and nieces, special best good friends Shirley and Bruce Sandberg, Bob Fetzik, Carl Grabau, former coworkers, and all those whom he embraced as his family. Nick passed peacefully under the wonderful care of Molly, Ola, and Dr. Hsieh at Fairview Range Medical Center.
