Nellie R. McGinn

Nellie R. McGinn, age 65, of Hibbing, MN, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born on August 6, 1960, in Hibbing, MN, to Patrick and Frances (Miller) McGinn.

Nellie was a strong, independent woman with a deep love for the outdoors and all the beauty nature had to offer. She found joy in gardening, fishing, searching for special rocks, crocheting, and simply spending time outside. A devoted mother and grandmother, she was hardworking, resilient, and known for her tough spirit, yet she possessed a kind and loving heart and welcomed everyone with open arms.

She is survived by her mother, Frances Waldren; son, Riley (Emily) Erickson; grandchildren, Alice, Kandyce, Henry, Emma, Ollie, and Isabelle.

Nellie is preceded in death by her father, life partner, Robert “Bob” Vance, and brother, Peter McGinn.

A visitation will take place from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at the Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing, MN. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. at the Chisholm Cemetery in Chisholm, MN. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, MN.
