Michael Paul Marinucci, age 71 of Vienna, Austria died unexpectedly of natural causes on May 24, 2024. He was born in Hibbing, MN on October 2, 1952 to parents, Brundo & Mary (Valentini) Marinucci. Upon his graduation from Hibbing High School, Michael continued his education at Hibbing Junior College, Bemidji State, and Mankato State University. A student of the arts, Michael searched for a place to feed his creative spirit. He settled in Vienna, Austria. He taught English and Theatre at the American International School for 34 years. He shared his love and knowledge of the theatre with his students, and also hosted a weekly radio program. Michael put his talents on display as he performed in various plays and movies— most notably as Nicolo Ratti in Rossini’s Ghost. A novelty seeker, Michael travelled the world in search of new food and drink recipes. Every summer he returned home to Minnesota, where he shared his new recipes with his family.
He is survived by his brothers, Gerald (Jean), Terrance, David (Colleen), Robert, Lawrence (Crystal); sister, Dianne (Chris) Dougherty; beloved nieces & nephews and their children; along with many friends who were like family in Austria.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Brundo and his niece, Gina Maki.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, July 10 at 11:00 a.m. with a visitation starting at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 2310 7th Ave E, Hibbing, MN 55746. Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
