Maxine M. Baraga

Maxine M. Baraga, age 95, of Keewatin, MN, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN. She was born on February 19, 1930, in Chisholm, MN, to Andrew and Jennie (Yamnik) Bryan.

Maxine was a lifetime resident of Keewatin and worked as a telephone operator and office clerk at AT&T for 31 years. She was a member of St. Cecelia’s Catholic Church, Keewatin Senior Citizens, and the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She married Edward J. Baraga on May 17, 1952, in Chisholm, and they were married for 58 years. Maxine enjoyed walking with friends, spending time at the cabin, bird watching, and she loved animals, especially dogs. She also loved gardening and her flowers. Maxine dearly loved her family and her many special friends loved taking care of them.

She is survived by her son, David (Diana) Baraga; and many nieces and nephews.

Maxine is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Edward Baraga; and sister, Jennie VanHampler.

Services were held privately.
