Matthew John  Brletich
Matthew John  Brletich, 82, Hibbing, died Friday, January 20, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was born to Tom and Mary Brletich in Keewatin on June 21, 1929 and lived in Stevenson Location before moving to Hibbing. Matt was active in both the Hibbing and his Church communities. He was an active volunteer in various organizations, including North Star Hospice and the Knights of Columbus.  He had been employed with Hanna Mining Co. as a Mechanic and also ran his own construction company; Brletich Brothers from 1960 to the mid 1980’s. He was a member of United Steelworkers #2660 in Keewatin, the Croatian Fraternal Union, the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus for 57 years.
Matt will be missed by his wife, Betty, son, Michael Brletich of Hibbing, daughters, Patsi Brletich, San Juan Island, WA, Sandra (Lonny) Schmelzer, Hibbing, brothers, Frank (Nancy) Brletich, Hibbing, Charles (Georgianne) Brletich, Keewatin, sisters, Katie Gibson, Hibbing, and Rose (Richard) Moa, Seattle, WA, son in law, Duane Farden, Hibbing, 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his daughter, Shirley Farden, brother, Anton Brletich and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at Noon on Tuesday in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Gabriel Waweru celebrating the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be in church starting at 10:00 am.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.  You may sign the online guest book at www.doughertyofhibbing.com
