Mary Lynn Timpane

Mary Lynn Timpane, 69, longtime resident of Hibbing passed away Monday, July 9, 2018 at home with family by her side.  She was born April 9, 1949 to Joseph and Jenny (Stornick) Tonko in Eveleth, MN.  Mary Lynn attended and graduated from Eveleth Schools.  She would then graduate from University of Minnesota Duluth with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.  She later was employed with I.S.D. 2142 at Cook Elementary retiring after 36 years of service.  Uniting in marriage on November 16, 1974 with Jon Timpane, Mary Lynn and Jon made their home in Hibbing where they would raise their family.   Mary Lynn was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing.  She loved quilting and would give countless quilts away as presents for weddings, newborns, and other special occasions.  She enjoyed bowling, golfing and especially her grandkids and family.  Mary Lynn was a very giving person. She loved her family, friends and former students very much.  Her kindness and caring demeanor touched a lot of people throughout her lifetime.

She is survived by her husband, Jon Timpane, Hibbing, sons, Trevor (Keisha) Timpane, Rochester, MN and Erik (Haley) Timpane, Lakeville, MN, brother, Joe (Sue) Tonko, Mt. Iron, MN, four beloved grandchildren, Addyson Timpane, Rochester, Bennett Timpane, Rochester, Ava Timpane, Lakeville, and Michael Joseph “M.J.” Timpane of Lakeville, sister-in-law, Ellen Timpane, brothers-in-law, Robert Timpane and Donald Terrence Timpane, all of Hibbing, nephews, Matthew (Bre) Timpane, Superior, WI, Jon (Amy) Tonko, Boynton Beach, FL, and Christopher Tonko, great-niece, Megan Tonko, Boynton Beach, FL, Mt. Iron, MN.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Jenny (Stornick) Tonko.

Funeral services for Mary Lynn will be 11:30 am, Friday, July 13, 2018 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Andrew Petter will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:30 am funeral service at the church on Friday.  Interment will be at a later date.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
