Mary "Joanie" (Berg) Reisinger, 87, of Nashwauk, MN, passed away peacefully at Grand Itasca Hospital in Grand Rapids, MN, on Saturday, December 23, 2023. She was born in Hibbing, MN, on December 1, 1936 to Harry and Marcia (Davis) Berg. Joanie attended school in Greenway and graduated from the Greenway High School. She continued her education with a four year degree at the University of Minnesota Duluth. Joanie married James Reisinger and together they started their family in Nashwauk. Her faith was important to her as her family were longtime members of the Nashwauk United Methodist Church. She was active with the United Methodist Women for years along with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post 307. Joanie was an art teacher for the Aurora school district for a short time. She was a true artist and with her talents, made many art pieces for others. Joanie loved to sew and made banners for her church. She lived a great life and will be dearly missed.

Joanie is survived by her children, Jean (Frank) Wagner, Peter (Karen White) Reisinger and Mary (Stephen) Baldwin, grandchildren, Sophie Dail, Jimmy Wagner, Darrin Reisinger, Paul Baldwin, Mary Celinda Baldwin and great granddaughter Ada and Marcelynn Wagner. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Davis Berg and grandson Anthony Reisinger.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 13, 2023 at the Nashwauk United Methodist Church. Pastor Diane Bolles will officiate the service and visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 10:00 AM.
