Mary Rebecca "Becky" Luth-Kapella, of Cherry, MN, passed away on May 3, 2026. Becky was a self-described and proud “Iowa Farm Girl” born April 30, 1958, in Burlington, IA. She graduated from Assumption High School in Davenport, IA, and went on to attend the University of Iowa and Arizona State University, where she pursued a degree in Psychology.
Becky met and married the love of her life, Ken, in 1983. While she began her career at Range Mental Health, Becky and Ken ultimately opened Ken's A-1 Auto in 1986. She played an integral role in the family business while pouring her heart and soul into being the best mother to her three children (and second mother to many others). In 2010, Becky took on her favorite role, grandma. She was dedicated to helping raise her five grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she was unquestionably the light of theirs. Becky also cared deeply for her community, volunteering with the AAUW and at Fairview Range Hospital. Her love and care extended to animals as well, and she kept an ever-growing list of beloved pets.
She was always the first to offer support, advice, or simply a listening ear. Her altruism was instinctive and genuine. She had a way of keeping the people around her focused on what truly mattered: family and love. Becky lived a life defined by warmth, generosity, and an extraordinary ability to make every person she met feel seen and important.
Becky is survived by her husband, Ken Kapella; children, Kasey (Joe Skaja) Kapella, Benjamin Kapella, and Brendan (Alex) Kapella; siblings, Lynn Leming, Dave (Cyndi) Luth, Patricia (John) Gunia, Diane (Patrick) Cristelli, and Pamela (Terry) Hansen; grandchildren, Louis Skaja, Calvin Skaja, Rosalind Skaja, Rockford Kapella, and Quinn Kapella; and brothers-in-law, Terry Kapella and Patrick Kapella.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
