May 29, 1932 July 21, 2026

Marianne Terese Hydukovich, 94, Fergus Falls, MN, and a former

longtime resident of Hibbing, MN died Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at

PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls, MN. She was born on May 29,

1932, in Milwaukee, WI. Marianne was “The Singing Songbird of

Milwaukee” on the radio at 3 years of age. She attended Catholic

schools, and graduated from Montello, WI High School at the age of

15. She was extremely intelligent. Marianne married Gordon

Hydukovich on July 21, 1951, and she coincidentally passed away on

their anniversary. Together, they moved to Hibbing in 1952, where later

she became a cook at Leisure Hills Nursing Home, a housekeeper at

Golden Crest Nursing Home, and at Hibbing General Hospital. She also

held employment in retail at JCPenney in Hibbing.

Marianne was a most loving mother, grandmother, and great-

grandmother. Her grandchildren claimed they were spoiled rotten.

Marianne had various pastimes and hobbies. She was an outstanding

rose gardener, a collector of statues and figurines including roses and

hummingbirds. She was an expert at knitting, crocheting, and sewing,

often creating masterpieces out of odds and ends. Marianne was an avid

reader and an exceptional cook. Her German background along with her

eastern European influence made her excel at many dishes including

strudels, sarmas and poticas to name a few. She was a huge fan of old

movies – “the classics”! She would discuss in detail with anyone the

names and storylines of the actors and actresses that starred in them.

Some of her greatest joys were her pets, especially her Scottish Terriers,

Maggie 1, Maggie 2, Patsy Rose, and her rescue dog, Elsie. These pets

were very attached and loyal to Marianne.

She is survived by her son, Gordon A. (Betty) Hydukovich, Fergus Falls,

MN, two grandchildren, Nick (Dawn) Hydukovich, Bayport, MN, and

Andrea (Bryce) Stordahl, Erskine, MN, 4 great-grandchildren, Charlie

Hydukovich, Millie Hydukovich, Jens Stordahl, and Adler Stordahl,

along with many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gordon Hydukovich

in 1995, son, Robert Hydukovich, and three brothers, John, William, and

Arthur Boehm, and her beloved Uncle Andrew Baumbach.

Graveside services for Marianne were held at the Maple Hill Cemetery

of Hibbing on Monday, August 10, 2026. The Rev. Fr. Bill Skarich

officiated. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of

Hibbing.
