Louise Ann Perunovich, age 95 of Hibbing, MN, passed away on February 8, 2026. She was born on August 10, 1930, to Louis and Ida Kotula.
The day she was born, a petal fell from heaven and landed on earth. She was gentle, kind, and a loving soul who had few earthly possessions except her family, a caring smile, and a soft hand to reach out to anyone in need. She married Dan Perunovich, and the two settled in Hibbing, where they raised their children, Steven (Patty), Danny, Jim (Susan), and their little girl, Danelle (Tony). Together, they taught their kids the importance of faith, family, kindness, and forgiveness. Louise had a gift of friendship. She and her soulmates, Barb Manney and Diane Hamre, terrorized 16th Avenue with their pranks, laughter, and overall fun.
Her abundance of love was best demonstrated by her relationship with her son, Danny. He was Louise’s angel on earth. They were inseparable, as she was with her favorite child, Danelle, who carries on to continue to share her mom's sunshine. When you look at Danelle, you will see Louise. Steve, her firstborn, carried his mom's soft heart and care for others. Then there was Jimmy. Enough said…..
Louise leaves behind her grandkids, Stevie, Stephanie, Lexi, Nick, Lisa, Jeffrey, Scotty, and great-grandkids Kendall and Travis. She will be joining her parents, Louis and Ida, her siblings, Grace and Gene, her husband Dan, and her beloved son Danny.
Her last words to her family were always be kind, always forgive. This is her gift to all of us.
A Memorial Service will take place at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing at 12 p.m., and the visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Pastor John Dietz will be officiating the service, and interment will take place at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Louise’s memory to Fairview Hospice.
Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, MN.
