Louis Donnell Paul

Louis D. Paul, 80, longtime resident of Hibbing, formerly of Grand Rapids, MN died Thursday April 18, 2019 at his home in Hibbing.  He was born August 19, 1938 to Joseph and Evelyn (Jaeger) Paul in Le Sueur, MN.  Louis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  He entered the Sacrament of Marriage on February 27, 1960 with Felicia Backlund in Grand Rapids, MN.   He later was employed with Mesabi Tire as a truck driver and manager, retiring with over 40 years of service.  He was an avid outdoorsmen, who loved hunting, fishing, and trapping as his hobbies.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Felicia Paul, children, Steve (Sue) Paul, and Cal Paul, all of Hibbing.  sister, Mary (Jewel) Danielson, Grand Rapids, MN, four grandchildren, Samantha (Greg) Erickson, Minneapolis, MN, Danielle (Ricky) Weberg, Hibbing, Forrest Paul, Saginaw, MN, and Levi Paul, McGuire AFB, NJ, great-grandchild, R.J. Weberg, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and one brother.

Per Louis’ request, there will be a private graveside ceremony held at the Nashwauk Cemetery in Nashwauk, MN.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
