Louis Anthony Lackner

Louis A. Lackner, 80, longtime resident of Hibbing died Monday, May 28, 2018 at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, MN.  He was born on October 24, 1937 to Tony and Dorothy (Juliana) Lackner in Chisholm, MN.  After graduating from Chisholm High School, Louis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for nearly 4 years of service.

Louis entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Rose Paun on December 26, 1964 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm, MN.  Louis was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and the Mesaba Country Club in Hibbing.  He was an avid golfer, fisherman in his earlier years, and enjoyed hunting.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rose Lackner, Hibbing, nieces and nephews, Carol (Jim) Brandt, Chisholm, MN, Kristin (Dan) Madich, Chisholm, MN, John (Cheryl) Lackner, Duluth, MN, Ann Louise (Ralph) Berge, Cleveland, OH, Mary (Larry) Everett, West Des Moines, IA, Mark Karakash, Grygla, MN, Paul Karakash, Hibbing, MN, Teresa Felmlee, Rochester, MN, Peter Karakash, Hibbing, and John (Shaun) Karakash, Chisholm, MN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jack Lackner, sister, Dorothy “Dee Dee” Skramstad, two nephews, Mark and Paul Skramstad, and his niece, Rose Isaacson.

Funeral services for Louis will be 11:00am, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Friday.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
