Loren D. Sutton

Loren D, Sutton, 77, longtime resident of Chisholm, MN, died Thursday, October 3, 2024 at home surrounded by his family. He was born February 7, 1947 to Murl and Rosie (Miller) Sutton in Blackduck, MN. After high school, Loren proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy. He later married Linda Hentges on May 30, 1970 in Blackduck, MN. Loren was employed as a mechanic with Hibbing Taconite. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed woodworking and farming at his home. 

Loren is survived by his wife, Linda Sutton, Chisholm, MN, three children, Duane (Melissa) Sutton, Sioux Falls, SD, Janet (Todd) Jaranson, Grand Rapids, MN, and Brian (Angie) Sutton, Lakeville, MN, 6 grandchildren, Sean (Ben) Sutton, Alex (Rachael) Sutton, Tristan (Melissa) Sutton, Makenzie Jaranson, Adisyn Jaranson, Stella Sutton, one great-grandchild, Astrid Sutton, 9 brothers, 2 sisters and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Murl and Rosie (Miller) Sutton.

Per Loren’s request, there will be a private graveside service at the MN State Veterans Cemetery in Duluth, MN. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
