Lois H. Pulis

Lois H. Pulis, age 102, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Aspen Grove in Chisholm, MN. She was born on May 27, 1924, in Hibbing, MN, to Clarence and Esther (Sjoholm) Hoffman.

Lois was a lifelong resident of Hibbing and graduated from Hibbing High School. Lois worked for Remington Yards as a bookkeeper and later worked at Pure Gas Station as a bookkeeper. A woman of strong faith, Lois was a lifelong member of the First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. She was very involved with the church events and sang in the church choir. Lois directed the Jr. choir for nearly 25 years and later sang in the Sr. Choir. Lois also enjoyed sewing, quilting, picking berries, and making the best apple pie on the range. She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her faith, her love of music, and her kind, caring nature.

She is survived by her children, Gary (Kathleen) Pulis, Dale (Jane) Pulis, Linda Johnson, Susan (Brian) Gustafson, Judy Slater, and Mark Pulis; daughter-in-law, Sandi Pulis; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Lois is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor Pulis; son, David Pulis; sisters, Marjorie Hoffman, Clarice Gildred, Helen Larson, and Elaine Thomas; and many cousins and family members who have gone before her.

A public Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2026, at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, MN. A private family visitation will take place prior to the service, and interment will take place at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN.
