Larry R. Albrecht, 79, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN. He was born November 10, 1946, to Arthur and Ethel (Martin) Albrecht in Hibbing. Larry graduated from Hibbing schools and later served his country with the United States Air Force. He was employed with Hibbing Taconite as a truck driver retiring after 30 plus years of service. He was a former member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing. His favorite pastimes were whittling sticks, hanging out with his son’s dogs, Racer, Copper and Tracker, and especially listening to his AM Radio, morning talk shows, and very rarely missed listening to a Twins game on the radio.

Larry is survived by his two sons, Larry R. “JR” (Kara) Albrecht Jr. Hibbing, MN, and Eric (Karissa) Albrecht, Hermantown, MN, three siblings, Ronald (Linda) Albrecht, Minneapolis, MN, Dennis (Cathi) Albrecht, Hibbing, MN, and Robert Albrecht, Texas, four grandchildren, Kyle, Aubrie, Kellan, and Kinsley Albrecht, along with his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Per Larry’s request there will be a private committal service held in Hibbing at a later date. Larry’s family would like to send a sincere thank you to the nurses in the ICU at Fairview, his hospice staff, and the entire staff at Heritage Manor for taking such good care of him in his time of need. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
