Kimberly J. Kaster
Kimberly J. Kaster, 28, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Thursday, December 1, 2011 in Duluth, MN after a long battle with the disease of addiction. She was born on June 29, 1983 in Hibbing. Kimberly especially loved spending time with her son Gavin. Kim’s greatest achievement aside from her son was becoming a LPN, despite her many obstacles that she dealt with along the way. She was an avid reader, and loved going to the lake. She was also a gifted writer. Kim had a great sense of humor and liked to make people laugh.
She is survived by her son, Gavin Edwin Gustafson, Duluth, MN., her mother, Fern LeMay, Hibbing, and father, Fran Jivery, also of Hibbing, grandmother, Shirley Spolar, Superior, WI., her life companion and father to her child, Michael Gustafson, Hibbing, her sister, Shylah Kaster, Duluth, MN., brother, Aaron Kaster of Oregon, sister, Sara Powel, Hibbing, and Brandi Rehal, Irving, TX., five nieces and nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Jim Spolar, and paternal grandparents, Quentin and Katherine Jivery.
Funeral services for Kimberly will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the 11:00am funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will be at a later date in the Cherry Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
