Keith A. “Schweiby” Schweiberger

Keith A. Schweiberger, 73, longtime Cherry, MN resident died Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Essentia St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN. He was born April 18, 1952, to Frank and Joyce (Anderson) Schweiberger in Minneapolis, MN. Keith married Lynn (Moden) on November 15, 1975. Together, they moved to the Hibbing area in 1977 and continued to raise their family. Upon moving up to the Iron Range, Keith owned and operated Ranger Fire Protection. His main career was with Hibbing Taconite where he was employed for many years. Currently Keith was widely known for owning and operating Schweiby’s Concessions which has pretty much been a staple at all types of events on the Iron Range and beyond. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Hibbing, the Hibbing Elks Lodge, and member of Minnesota Deer Hunter’s Association where he was past president of the Hibbing Chapter. In his earlier years, he coached his son in hockey and baseball. Keith was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time in the fish house, the deer shack, and most of all spending time at the cabin on Lake Vermilion. His main concern there was making sure no one was left out of the festivities. That was Keith, he loved his family unconditionally.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Schweiberger, Cherry, MN, three children, Kate Jensen, Hibbing, John (Angela) Schweiberger, Hibbing, and Stephanie (Scott) Skraba, Chisholm, MN, eight grandchildren, Samantha (Adam) Gruis, Detroit Lakes, MN, Carson (Macie McNulty) Link, Hibbing, MN, Stella (Jacob Scherf) Schweiberger, Burnsville, MN, Gavin Schweiberger, Sylas Schweiberger, both of Hibbing, Andrew Pearson, Zimmerman, MN, Cora Skraba, and Louisa Skraba, both of Chisholm, MN, his great-grandson, Joziah Link, along with his brothers-in-law and their families.
Keith was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, David and Jeffrey Schweiberger, grandson, Myles Schweiberger, and his son-in-law, Rick Jensen.
Funeral services for Keith will be 2:30 pm, Sunday, March 8, 2026, at First Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Rev. John Dietz will officiate. Visitation will be from 12:30 to the 2:30 pm memorial service at the church on Sunday. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
