Kathleen Mannes age 76 of Silica, MN passed away Thursday May 2, 2024, at
Essentia-St Mary’s in Duluth. She was born in Hibbing to Steve and Laurel
(Fuller) Radika on April 5, 1948. Kathy was a member of Northstar Church, she
was very active in the Silica community, participating in the Silica Women’s club,
and the Silica Seniors Club. Kathy worked numerous places throughout her life
including the Star Motel and JC Penny's in Hibbing, Charlies Bakery in Grand
Forks, ND and NEO Data in Colorado. In 1992 Kathy and her family moved back
to Hibbing, Kathy started working for the bus company, retiring after 27 years.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Steve Mannes, Silica, MN, daughter, Amber
(Warren) Kampen, Hibbing, MN, siblings, Ron (Linda) Radika, Rice, MN, Vicki
(Dan) Wolff, Hibbing, MN, Colleen Oestreich, Hibbing, MN, grandson, Jake
(Hannah Maxie) Kampen, numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives
friends and her beloved dogs, Maggie and Mollie. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Ron Mannes.
A memorial service will be held 11 am Saturday, May 11, 2024 at Dougherty
Funeral Home in Hibbing. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at
the funeral home. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to a local animal
shelter in Kathys honor.
