Joan Louise (Parris) Vincent passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones, on Saturday, October 10, 2026.
Joan was born on September 18, 1935, in Bengal, Minnesota, the youngest of ten children born to Ernest and Louise (Graff) Parris. She graduated from Hibbing High School in 1953 and married George Vincent on July 17, 1954, at St. Theresa’s Church in Silica, Minnesota.
Growing up as the youngest in a large family, Joan learned early the importance of family, connection, and community. She loved her siblings dearly and continued to remember each of their birthdays, even after they had passed. Joan welcomed everyone with a hug and a smile, making people feel loved and at home wherever they were in life.
Joan was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Hibbing and a devoted part of the Silica community. Whether greeting friends at the Silica pancake breakfasts, working on a puzzle, enjoying days on the lake with family, or simply relaxing in a cozy room surrounded by those she loved, Joan found joy in life’s simple pleasures and in being with others. To know Joan was to know her care and kindness. She was a constant light in the lives of her family and friends and a beloved pillar of the Silica community. Her warmth, laughter, and love will be deeply missed, but the strength and kindness she instilled in those around her will live on for generations.
Joan is survived by her children, Debra (Ernest) Johnson, Cheryl Kent, and Mitchell (Julie) Vincent; her grandchildren, Colin (Keri) Vincent, Corey Vincent, Sarah (Josh) Butler, Rebecca (Phil) Davidson, Kaitlin McPherson, Gabriela Vincent, and Isabela Vincent; her great-grandchildren, Connor Vincent, Keaton Davidson, Keely Vincent, Corbin Vincent, Maddox Davidson, Madison Vincent, Coledyn Vincent, and Liam McPherson; and her beloved canine companion, Miss B.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Vincent; her son, Michael Vincent; and her nine siblings, Madeline, Elaise, Ernest, Margaret, Marion, Richard, Joyce, Robert, and William.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 19, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior, and a private interment will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing, MN. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, MN.
Joan’s family extends its heartfelt gratitude to all her caregivers at Fairview Range for their kindness and compassionate care.
