Jeffrey Allen Backstrom, 52, of Chisholm, MN, passed away naturally but unexpectedly at his home on April 29, 2024. Jeff was born in Hibbing, MN, on June 17, 1971, to Terrance Lind and Joyce (Hill) Backstrom. He grew up in Hibbing and graduated with the Hibbing High School class of 1990. Jeff was an avid outdoorsmen always in the woods hunting or on the lake fishing. He was a true Iron Ranger as he loved wearing his flannel, BBQing out in the open and having a cold beer. He was a hard worker, enjoyed his job and was getting ready to retire from his position at Minn Tac after 30 years. Jeff is survived by his mom Joyce Backstrom, daughter Diane (Zach) Shadley, grandsons Jonah and Noah Shadley, his sister Traci Chacich, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and his "deer" friends. He is preceded in death by his father.
There will be a gathering of family and friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
