Jeanette Marie Webster, 79, of Nashwauk and formerly Hibbing, MN, passed away on December 19, 2023 at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN. She was born in Canby, MN, on April 4, 1944, to Alfred and Emily (Luksic) Cafourek. Jeanie was one of 10 children and her family moved to their farm outside of Nashwauk where she attended school in town. Early on, Jean worked in restaurants as a soda jerk. She eventually moved to Hibbing where she worked as a waitress and met her future husband, Joel Webster. They were married on December 1, 1962 and began raising their family. Jean loved her garden and had the greenest thumb around as she could get anything to grow. She loved to go on walks all over Hibbing with Joel and their dog. Jeanie was a big fan of music, especially classic country along with Christmas and gospel music. She enjoyed Neil Diamond and even a little bit of Ozzy Osbourne on occasion. Jeanette was an amazing mom as she raised four boys and loved to bake every kind of treat imaginable and enjoyed crocheting afghans and doilies.
She was an exceptional host for all holidays and events as family from all over came to her house. Jean also liked to spend time playing a bit of Yahtzee and gin rummy. Her faith was important to her and she was a regular member of the Hibbing Christian Assembly.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, December 29, 2023, at the Hibbing Christian Assembly Church. Pastor Dave Aho will officiate the service and visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at 10:00am. Interment will take place at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing following the service.
