James J. Sersich

James J. Sersich (Papa) age 68 of Hibbing passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026, unexpectedly in his home. He was born October 16, 1957, to John and Rose (Mazich) Sersich in Hibbing.

Jim graduated with the Hibbing High School class of 1976. He worked at the PUC until his retirement. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, gardening, along with anything outdoors, watching hockey, especially the Minnesota Wild and most of all spending time with his family.

He is survived by his sons, James (Leah Voight) Sersich, Austin (Stevie) Sersich, Josh (Shai Asphodel) Sersich, sisters, Roseann Gargano, Mary (Dave) LeRoux, his pride and joys, beloved, grandchildren, Braelynn, Emersynn, Jacob, Archie and Jaxxon Sersich, numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rose, brother, John Sersich, brothers-in-law, Robert “Butch” Hamre, Tim Gargano, and his beloved dog, Holly. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:30 am Friday, February 27, 2026, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the beginning of the Mass at Church. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
