Jack M. Kapla

Jack M. Kapla Jr. age 84 of Hibbing passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024, at Guardian Angels Health & Rehab Center. Jack was born on November 19, 1939, in Leetonia to Jack Sr. and Mary (Suknaich) Kapla.

Jack graduated from Hibbing High School, lettering in Basketball, Baseball, Track, and Football. He then went on to graduate from Bemidji State University with a bachelor’s degree. Jack married Carole “Kay” Toscano on June 17, 1961, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hibbing, MN, and together they raised their children Steven, Joseph, and Susan. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Elks Club, Hibbing Bluejackets Club, and the Moose Club. During his working career he worked for Kehne Electric, Bathke Company later Praxair, and even taught business for 3 years in Hancock, MN. 

Jack is survived by his wife, Carole “Kay” Kapla of Hibbing, MN; children, Dr. Steven(Mary) Kapla of Eau Claire, WI, Dr. Joseph (Denise) Kapla of Mendota Heights, MN, and Susan (Jeff) Danielson of Rochester, MN; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Ranga) Kapla of Melbourne, Australia, Michael (Grace) Kapla of Angelholm, Sweden, Patrick Kapla of Nashville, TN, Jena (Mike) Reveland of St. Paul, MN, and Jack Danielson of Rochester, MN; and great-grandchildren, Leo Kapla, Cooper and Ryan Reveland.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 22, 2024, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm, MN. Visitation will be held at 9:30 AM prior to mass at the church. Private family burial will be held at the Maple Hill Cemetery Columbarium following the mass.
