Doris Eileen Cicchi

Doris E. Cicchi, 89, longtime Side Lake and Hibbing resident died Monday, May 18, 2026, at her home in Hibbing. She was born November 9, 1936, to John and Beula (Streator) Brinegar in Falls City, NE. A homemaker by trade, Doris enjoyed sewing, reading, flower gardening, and was known as a very good cook. She loved golfing and was an active member of Mesaba Country Club in Hibbing. She belonged to a local exercise club up until her recent health issues. Doris was also a member of First Presbyterian Church in Hibbing. She was active in the church and was involved with the ladies’ church guild throughout her time there.

Doris is survived by her three children, Allison (Jeff) Young, Side Lake, MN, Amy Cicchi, Chisholm, MN, and Dean (Nette) Cicchi, Hibbing, MN, sisters, Shirley Hickman, Grand Prairie, TX, and Sue Brinegar, Ft. Collins, CO, five grandchildren, Greg (Liz) Young, Hugo, MN, Mike Young, Minneapolis, MN, Mallory (Matt) Johnson, Maple Grove, MN, Nick (Morgan) Cicchi, and Livia Cicchi, both of Hibbing, four great-grandchildren, Everett Johnson, Teddy Johnson, Monroe Cicchi, and Charlie Cicchi, along with her many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Beula, husband, David Cicchi in 2020, brother, John Brinegar, sister, Janice McDonald and Amy’s significant other, Dennis McDonald.

Doris’ family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude for the compassionate care she received from Fairview Hospice of Hibbing.

Funeral services for Doris will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, July 10, 2026 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the funeral home on Friday. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Fairview Hospice in Hibbing, MN.
