Donald "Butch" C. Morris

Donald “Butch” Morris, 70, of Hibbing, MN, passed away peacefully on April 26th, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family and beloved dog, Tippy.

Don was born in Minneapolis, MN, on April 29th, 1954, to Donald Morris, Sr. and Marilyn (Nelson) Morris. He graduated from North Hennepin Technical School, specializing in AC and heavy machinery. He married Kathy Johnson on April 15th, 1978, in New Richmond, WI. Don was a lifelong heavy machinery mechanic. He owned and operated D & K Equipment with his wife, Kathy, for 26 years, working alongside his son, Jim.

Don is survived by: Wife of 47 years, Kathy (Johnson) Morris; Sons, Chris Morris and Jim (Jamie) Morris; Daughter, Melissa (Steven) Robbins; Grandchildren: Cierra (Astion) Schelde, Hunter Morris (Gracie Bakkethun) and Austin Morris, Adian, CJ, Angelo, and Ardea Robbins; Great-Grandchildren: Parker and Haidyn; Mother, Marilyn Morris; Siblings, Charlie (Pat) Morris and Kim Morris; Nephews: Eric and Ben Morris; and Niece: Jenny (Michael) Jones; Great-Nephew: Jacob Jones; and many cousins.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Donald Morris, Sr., and many aunts and uncles. He was a devoted Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Uncle, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather.

A Celebration of Life will be held on May 10th, 2025, Visitation at 11 am and Ceremony at 12 pm at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing, MN.
