David C. McCray

David C. McCray, age 68 of Hibbing, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at Aspirus St. Luke's in Duluth. He was born April 14, 1958, in Columbus, NE, to Donald and Darlene (Kasper) McCray. David ran the towing operations for Beltline Body and Glass, helping numerous people over the years. He helped various drivers on their pit crew and loved the local stock car scene! David was a talented cook; he was famous for his barbecue, especially pulled pork. David could often be found in his shop working on projects from welding to woodworking. He was never afraid of diving into a project and had a knack for solving problems. He is survived by his wife, Shannon, sons, Ryan (Rissy) McCray, Tanner (Tina) McCray, brother, Mark McCray, grandchildren, Jack, Charlie, and Grayson McCray, special friends, Candy and Gary Oie. David was preceded in death by his parents, Don and Darlene McCray, and close friend, Rod Long. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
