David Michael DeNucci
Sept. 9, 1968 August 31, 2025
David Michael DeNucci entered this world on September 9th, 1968, in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. On Sunday, August 31st, 2025, he left, much too young, at 56.
From a young age, David was athletic. It served him well playing baseball in high school and quarterbacking the Nashwauk Spartans. He loved a good competitive outing, be it playing softball, corn hole, darts, or cribbage at the Coon Lake hunting camp. He was competitive and not easy to beat.
David married Brenda Krznarich 27 years ago. They were married for 21 years, and for the last 6 years, she was his devoted, loving, caregiver as he struggled with dementia.
Their daughter Taylor was the apple of his eye. Like her mother, Taylor has her caring heart. After college, Taylor lived and worked in Las Vegas, but as her father became more compromised, she chose to return home and support her mother with her father’s care.
David loved listening to music, talking with his friend Jerry about their next cooking adventure. David was known for his excellent Green Ham’s which he barbecued over an open fire. He loved the outdoors; hunting with his brothers, camping, and like his Grampa, chopping firewood.
David will be missed for his generosity and willingness to help family, friends, or those in need. His addiction could and at times would camouflage the sensitive and caring man; father, husband, brother, son, …. he truly was.
David was preceded in death by his father, Louis DeNucci. He is survived by his mother, Jackie Lavalier DeNucci, daughter Taylor, Brenda DeNucci, stepchildren Ryan (Jo) Staydohar, Rachel (Joe) Dasovich, brothers Tony (Naomi) DeNucci, Michael (Kelly) DeNucci, and grandchildren Cody, Lily, Mara, and Henry.
Funeral services for David will be 11:00am, Monday, September 8, 2025, at St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church in Nashwauk, MN. The Rev. Fr. Babu Mandagiri will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am funeral Mass at the church on Monday. Interment will be in Nashwauk Cemetery, Nashwauk, MN with a reception in the church hall to follow.
Please, if you can, bring a memory to share that makes you smile or chuckle as we remember David’s life. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
