Dale "Sam" Newman, a man who lived life on his own terms and never met a leftover he didn't like, passed away on January 25, 2026, just days after celebrating his 59th birthday.
Born on January 21, 1967, Sam was known for his laid-back spirit and his deep devotion to his four-legged friends. Sam often found more peace in the company of his pups than anywhere else—usually with a smoke in his hand and a relaxed smile on his face. Outside of the house, he had a sharp eye for style and power, harboring a lifelong love for fast cars and beautiful women. If there was one thing Sam loved as much as his dogs, it was a family holiday. He was a legendary fixture at the dinner table, famous for eating until he was "sick" and always arriving prepared with a stack of to-go containers to ensure the feast lasted for days. His presence brought a unique humor and appetite to every gathering that his family will deeply miss.
Sam was preceded in death by his Grandfather and Grandmother Albert "Bud", and Ethel Newman; father, Earl "Duke" Newman; his biological mother, Elizabeth Kyzer; and his older brother, Eugene Newman. He leaves behind a large and loving family who will carry on his stories: his mother, Sally Newman; his daughter, Corrina Rushmeyer and four beautiful grandchildren; his brothers, Cory Perron and Jesse Newman; and his sisters, Ethel "Lady" Newman, Christine Newman, and Amber Newman.
He is also survived by his cousin, "brother," and lifelong best friend, Earl "Tuppy" Newman, with whom he shared countless memories and laughs.
Per Sam’s style, he wouldn't want anyone to fuss too much—just hug your dog, enjoy a good meal, and honor him in a way you think he would enjoy!
