Clement “Clem” Andrew Skalsky, age 88, of Keewatin, MN passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Aspirus St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth with his family close by. He was born on March 19, 1938, in Hibbing, to Nellie (Hebert) and Steve Skalsky Sr. Clem served in the US Army and Navy. Clem once owned his own painting business and was a long-time custodian and member of the VFW in Hibbing and the American Legion in Keewatin. Clem was an avid sports fan following the Minnesota Wild, Twins & Vikings. Clem went to numerous Twins games with Angelo and Jim. He was a member of dart leagues, playing both 501 and steel tip. He also was a talented pool player who often played with his custom-made pool cue. Clem was known for singing Patsy Cline with his friend Billie Fowler and drinking root beer barrels in honor of his love, Dorothy. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, including going to meat raffles with his buddy Ed. Clem made many great memories camping and fishing with his family at Pine Acres on Pelican Lake in Orr. He is survived by his children, Angie Skalsky of Hibbing, MN, Gary Skalsky, Clayton, WI, Joe Skalsky, MN, Lyle Skalsky, MN, Judy Campbell, grandchildren, Makala (Jon Adams) Skalsky, Chisholm, MN, Anthony Skalsky, MN, Daniel (Kali) Compton, Clayton, MN, DeAnna (Michael) McAbee Grantsburg, WI, Zena Skalsky, great grandchildren, Zaylie Skalsky-Chambers, Randy McAbee, Benjamin Holter, Cedric Skalsky- Adams and one expected in October 2026, brother, Doug (Pattie) Skalsky, Kelly Lake, MN, many nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. Clem was preceded in death by the love of his life, Dorothy Tomassini, parents, Nellie and Steve, siblings, Jerome, Rosie, Theresa, Steve Jr., Robert, Agnes, Nellie, Billy, and close friend, Angelo Corradi. Celebration of life will be held 4:00 pm Saturday May 9, 2026, at The American Legion in Keewatin. In honor of Clem, please wear your favorite Minnesota sports team item.
