Clara L. Kearney, 95, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Friday, February 27, 2026, at
Hillcrest Suites of Nashwauk. She was born January 3, 1931, to Joseph and Mary
(Zanoni) Iozzo in Hibbing, MN. She attended Hibbing Schools. Clara entered the
Sacrament of Marriage with Myron “Baldy” Kearney on August 29 th , 1953, at the
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Later she was employed with Hibbing
General Hospital in the medical records department. Family was of utmost importance
to Clara, as she was an incredible wife, mother and grandmother. She was a fantastic
Italian cook, always providing food and a welcoming home for her friends and family.
Clara was a bit of a perfectionist while she was always punctual and organized. She
enjoyed playing bingo, visiting the local casinos and watching her Minnesota Twins play.
Clara always had perfect hair as she would never miss an appointment. Being a devout
Catholic, her faith was a big part of her life. Clara was endlessly generous and her care
for others will be greatly missed.
Clara is survived by her children, Cindy (Craig) Hauer, Sandy (John) Bluntach and Bill
(Dana) Kearney, brother Joe Iozzo, sister Doretta George, grandchildren, Ben (Jen),
Nick (Erin), Gabriel, Dino, Olivia (Ariel), Erik, Samantha (Jake), Ryan and Jack
(Hannah), great-grandchildren, Amelia (Kollin), Dominic, Lainey, Adriel, Isiah, Charley, Colbey,
Rose and great-great grandson Braxtyn, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Husband Baldy, brothers Jim and John
Iozzo, sisters Virginia Ronchetti, Phyllis Sterle, Grace Zbacnik and Gloria Corradi and
great granddaughter Alexa.
Funeral services for Clara will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at
Blessed Sacrament Church. The Rev. Fr. Babu Mandigiri will celebrate the mass of
Christian burial. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral mass at the church.
Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with the
Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
